Mrs. Billie Joyce Jacobs, 72, of Leslie, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her granddaughter's home in Leesburg.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Leslie Cemetery with Rev. Troy Fripp and Rev. Bubba Hall officiating.
Born on August 4, 1952, in Perry, GA, Billie Jo was the daughter of the late William Oliver Melvin and Annie Joyce Tucker Melvin. She was a 1970 graduate of Union High School of Leslie and worked for several years in the cafeteria of the Lee County school system. She also worked for Orkin and the De Soto Nut House. She enjoyed playing piano, crocheting, cooking, and making desserts. She was a member of the former De Soto Baptist Church and current member of Smithville Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Elmer P. Jacobs; daughter, Lesley Barbosa of Leesburg; son, Wade King and Johnna of Leslie; 3 grandchildren, Emma Porter and Bryce of Perry, Kelsey Willis and Tyler of Leesburg, and Korbin Barbosa who is stationed in the military in New Jersey and from Leesburg; and one great-grandson, Tucker Willis.
