Bettye Bushnell

Ms. Bettye Bushnell, 89, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019. At her request, the family will hold a private service in the North Georgia Mountains. Ms. Bushnell was born May 29, 1930, in Blakely, GA to the late Griffin T. and Ruby Norman Lanier. She was a graduate of Albany High School and later went to work as a secretary in the real estate field. In the 60’s, her husband was named the exalted ruler of the Elks club, and as a devoted wife she carried out various duties and activities with the ladies of the Elk’s club. In her free time, she was an avid reader, and when she was able, she attended Life Spring Church of Leesburg. She loved the Lord, her children, and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Elton Bushnell; and her sister, Mary Dean Alguirre. Survivors include her son Curry Bushnell and his wife Robin of Albany; grandchildren, Candace Hart, Eric Worley, and Daniel Worley; great-grandchildren, Kendall, Leila, and Asher; sister, Ruby Nell “Pat” Brown; sister-in -law, Betty Hamblen; nieces, Kim Hamblen Elliot, Merydith Hamblen, Mary Dean Hermann, Susan McRoberts Sexton; and her nephew Allen McRoberts.
