Betty Jane Settle

Mrs. Betty Jane Settle, 83, of Albany, passed away, Thursday, March 22, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Born June 6, 1934 in Fulton, County, GA, Mrs. Settle was the daughter of the late Harold Meadows and Celia Agnes Mathis Meadows. In the 1960’s she worked at The Albany Linen Company and later managed Dan’s Bar in downtown Albany. She retired with over 28 years from The Doublegate Country Club and was well known for her chicken salad that was on the menu as Ms. Betty’s Chicken Salad. She was a true animal lover and especially loved cats. She will be remembered as a loving mother and was of the Christian faith. Survivors include her children, Roger Dale Summerlin of Marietta, GA, Celia Settle Bustos and Theresa J. Settle Harrison both of Albany; brother, Bobby Joe Meadows of McDonough; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.josephwjonesfuneralhome.com.
