Bettye "Mama Jo" Sindle

Mrs. Bettye “Mama Jo” Sindle, 84, of Albany passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Evergreen Assisted Living.

Born on May 3, 1940, in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Nova Stafford Steward and was one of eight children. She was a mother figure to each of them in addition to being their sister and proudly helped raise them. She worked in retail for several years in Jewelry, enjoyed shopping, jewelry, and nice clothes. She also enjoyed antiques, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She was of the Christian faith and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, James Russell Jenkins, her sister, Dianne, and her brother, Don.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Billy Sindle of Albany; her son, Gene Rodney Jenkins; 5 siblings, her grandchildren, Kristen Sheffield and Matt of Leesburg, Chad Jeffery and Jaycee of Leesburg, Kayla Jenkins of Albany, and Devon Ward of North Georgia; and her 3 great-grandchildren, Harlee, Cannon, and Holden.

In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Bettye services will be private.
