Barney Bass Williams

Mr. Barney Bass Williams, 80, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, December 4, 2022.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albany with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be held at High Bluff Cemetery in Waycross.

Born March 1, 1942, in Oklahoma, Mr. Williams was the son of the late William Isaiah Williams and Elizabeth Duff Williams. He proudly served our country in the United States Army where he served in Germany during Vietnam. He later went to work in the lab for Coats and Clark where he retired. When he was able, he loved to fish and was a huge Alabama football fan. Mr. Williams loved the Lord dearly and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Williams, Elizabeth “Cissy” Allen, and Olivia Williams Strickland.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Lynnell Williams of Leesburg; children, Allen Williams, Barney Wayne Williams, and Frances White; and his siblings, Billy Williams, Janie May, and Jon Williams.
