Barbara Jean Houston

Mrs. Barbara Jean Houston, 69, of Raleigh, NC. and formerly of Leesburg, GA., passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Transitions Life Care in Cary, N.C. Funeral services for Mrs. Houston will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg, GA. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Born November 30, 1946 in Waynesboro, TN., Mrs. Houston was the daughter of the late Edgar Risner and Bertha Mae Staggs Stutts. She was a caring homemaker who provided well for her family. She enjoyed shopping and was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Vann Houston. Survivors include her children, Russell Todd West (Sue) of Gloucester, VA., David Ryan West (Liza Kate) of Reston, VA. and Tara West Harrell (David) of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Charles Jay Stutts (Gwen) of Smithville, TN, James Harvey Stutts (Carolyn) of Sweetwater, TN. and Eddie Allen of Buchanan, TN; sister, Karen Jane Brown of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Kyle West, Kevin West, Caitlin Strickland, Taylor Harrell, Dallas Harrell and Davanee West; her aunt, Geneva Risner Byrd of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA. 31763.
