Angel Duran Gonzalez

Mr. Angel Duran Gonzalez, 84, of Albany, peacefully passed away during the early morning hours of Friday, December 15, 2023, at his home while surrounded by his beloved family.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 17, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg with viewing and visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond Levreault officiating.

Born on November 2, 1939, in Queretaro, Mexico, Mr. Gonzalez was the son of the late Gregorio Gonzalez and Francisca Duran Gonzalez. He worked in landscaping for many years and enjoyed working on vehicles as a mechanic. He loved guns, going to yard sales, pawn stores, and growing vegetables in his garden. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed hearing his grandchildren sing and play musical instruments. Mr. Gonzalez was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and will be remembered as a loving family man who had great faith.

Survivors include his loving wife, Guadalupe Garza of Albany; children, Francis Gonzalez and Gerardo of Albany, Tina Gonzalez and Jose of Perry, Sylvia Gonzalez of Albany, Joe Gonzalez and Maria of Albany, Lupe Gonzalez and Graciela of Bainbridge, Mike Gonzalez and Mari of Houston, TX, Salomon Gonzalez of Harlingen, TX, and Janie Gonzalez of Dallas, TX; 28 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.
